One song, written for them

Still nothing feels right?

If no existing song captures who them was, we'll write one. Original lyrics built around your stories, them's name, and the things you loved.

How to choose music for an older generation service

The room matters. A service that draws an older crowd usually rewards music the congregation can sing along to, in a key that suits older voices.

  • Pick at least one hymn the room knows. Singing together is part of what a service does — silence on the second verse can leave people feeling cut off.
  • Mix the era. One hymn plus one classic (Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams) often covers both the religious and the personal.
  • Be careful with tempo. Hymns played too slowly drag; one beat too fast can feel disrespectful. Most funeral directors and church musicians can advise on the right tempo.

When the standard hymns do not feel personal enough

Hymns honour the tradition but they do not honour the specifics — the name, the small habits, the things only your family knows. Some families pair a familiar hymn for the service itself with an original song for the slideshow or reception.

We write and produce original funeral songs from $49, delivered in three days. The song can be written in any style — hymn-inspired, classical, country, or modern — to match the rest of the service.
